Guthor Ritual Ceremony 2023


Guthor is a traditional Tibetan Buddhist Culture performed at the year-end with a strong belief to remove all ills & adversities for the coming new year. It is characterized by performing specific puja and ritual ceremonies for three consecutive days 27th – 29th of the 12th Tibetan calendar month. A specially constructed flour & butter sculpture – dGu-thor Torma is ultimately incinerated on conclusion of the rituals on the 29th Day of the year’s concluding month, marking the destruction of all ills and adversities for the coming new year.
